My friends, I don't think I even need to begin to explain why this ludicrously offensive comment blaming human failings for Haiti's earthquake is indefensibly stupid. I'll just let it speak for itself.

What is strange is how everyone seems to be picking up on Pat Robertson's unpleasant comments, but ignoring this one...

We're doomed!

My friends, that's surely the message from our very own Private Frazer, Prime Minister Gordon Brown.

Remember back in mid-October when he warned us we face a "catastrophe" of floods, droughts and killer heatwaves if world leaders fail to agree a deal on climate change?

Addressing the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate, he pronounced there is "no plan B" if agreement is not reached at December's UN summit in Copenhagen. Warming to his sunny theme he added that negotiators have 50 days to save the world from global warming.

Well everyone, we're now told by none other than the Obamessiah himself that time has run out to secure a legally binding climate deal at the summit and there is no choice but to delay a formal pact. What other conclusion can Frazer/Brown reach than that of our unavoidable and impending doom? Surely we should all start preparing are Armageddon Survival Packs now.

That is, of course, unless he was merely grandstanding, simply indulging in empty posturing and hyperbole, looking for the crisis which justifies government intervention.

That couldn't be true...could it?

GORE HEARING ON WARMING MAY BE PUT ON ICE

Al Gore is scheduled before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Wednesday morning to once again testify on the 'urgent need' to combat global warming.

But Mother Nature seems ready to freeze the proceedings.

A 'Winter Storm Watch' has been posted for the nation's capitol and there is a potential for significant snow... sleet... or ice accumulations.

"I can't imagine the Democrats would want to showcase Mr. Gore and his new findings on global warming as a winter storm rages outside," a Republican lawmaker emailed the DRUDGE REPORT. "And if the ice really piles up, it will not be safe to travel."

A spokesman for Sen. John Kerry, who chairs the committee, was not immediately available to comment on contingency plans.

Global warming advocates have suggested this year's wild winter spells are proof of climate change.

Professor denies global warming theory

My friends, I see that the climate change dissenters can now count another amongst their number.

William Happer, the Cyrus Fogg Brackett Professor of Physics at Princeton University, is now a fully-fledged dissenter.

“All the evidence I see is that the current warming of the climate is just like past warmings. In fact, it’s not as much as past warmings yet, and it probably has little to do with carbon dioxide, just like past warmings had little to do with carbon dioxide. I have spent a long research career studying physics that is closely related to the greenhouse effect, for example, absorption and emission of visible and infrared radiation, and fluid flow. Based on my experience, I am convinced that the current alarm over carbon dioxide is mistaken.”

He was a former director of the Office of Energy Research (now the Office of Science) in the U.S. Department of Energy, but was sacked by Vice President Al Gore for having the temerity to question his stance on so-called climate change.

So much for scientific debate!
